2B Play is the independent mobile game studio of 2BCONSEIL, a company based in Nancy in north-eastern France. We design stained-glass puzzles for Android inspired by the Art Nouveau windows the city is known for.

Each level is a window to rebuild. Coloured glass pieces must be fitted between the lead lines, and light only floods through once the last piece is in place, revealing the full design.

The shapes draw on flowers, ginkgo leaves and dragonflies, motifs associated with the École de Nancy, redrawn so that they stay clear on a small screen. Pieces snap gently into position and can be rotated with a tap, so the challenge is in reading colour and shape rather than in precise dexterity.

There is no timer and nothing to buy. Finished windows are collected in a small virtual chapel that fills with light as the player progresses, and each window can be viewed at different times of day to see how the colours change.

We are designing the first series of windows now, with help from local enthusiasts who know the city’s buildings well. Each window in the game comes with a short note describing the real style it was inspired by, written in plain language for curious players rather than specialists.

Later windows introduce layered glass, where two pale pieces combine into a deeper colour, and mirrored designs that must be completed symmetrically. A quiet soundtrack of church bells and soft rain accompanies the work, and the game remembers exactly where a player stopped in any window. Players who want a gentler pace can switch on an outline mode that shows faint guide lines for every piece. The game is designed to be played in short sessions of five or ten minutes, and it works offline once installed, so it suits a train journey or a quiet evening at home.
